Red meat production in Iran's official slaughterhouses stood at 45,412 tons during the 12th month of last Iranian year (Feb. 20-March 20) to register a 17% decrease compared to the previous month and a 16% fall compared with the preceding year’s same month.
According to the Statistical Center of Iran, beef accounted for 23,192 tons, or 51% of the overall meat production, indicating a year-on-year 15% drop.
A total of 18,289 tons of lamb (down 15% YOY), 2,893 tons of goat meat (down 4%) and 1,038 tons of meat from other types of livestock were produced during the month, accounting for 40.3%, 6.4% and 2.3% of the total output respectively.
