An aviation official said Iran is working to increase the range of its domestically manufactured drones. Iran Aviation Industries Organization is developing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with a longer flight range compared to previous models, Press TV quoted IAIO deputy director Karim Banitarafi as saying on Saturday. The new drones will also be able to fly at higher speed and altitudes and capture more accurate images, he added. All UAVs currently used by the armed forces have been completely designed and manufactured by local experts, he noted. Banitarafi said various types of equipment, including radars, could be installed on the new drones.
