The volume of gas reserves in the Shourijeh reservoir in the northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province increased by 10% in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21) compared with the same period of last year, the managing director of Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refining Company said.
Referring to the role of Shourijeh storage facility in stabilizing natural gas production in the winter, Yahya Feizi added that during this period, 1.825 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in the Shourijeh reservoir.
“The withdrawal from the reservoir began on Nov. 1 for ensuring the stability of production in the winter; an average of 15 million cubic meters of gas are taken from the reservoir on a daily basis,” he added.
