A total of 192,138 tons of goods worth $74.59 million were exported from Iran’s Semnan Province during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 3% decline in terms of weight, but a 23% rise in terms of value year-on-year, according to a local official.
Sodium hydroxide, wire and cable, light hydrocarbon, unrefined lead, refined edible oil, swamp coolers, plastic kitchenware, detergent, aluminum sheet, sulfuric acid, salt, resin, washing machine, hydrochloric acid, perchlorine, calcium chloride, ceramic tile, barite powder and liquid paraffin were the main exported goods.
“The average value of each ton of exported goods stood at $388, registering a 26% YOY rise,” Ali Sa’deddin was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Japan were among the 32 destinations of exports from Semnan during the period.
A total of 13,333 tons of goods worth $22.15 million were imported to Semnan during the same period.
The imports mainly included auto parts, production machinery, components and parts of transformers, insulator, metal strip, electric shutter blade, silicon module and sheet and connections.
Turkey, China, Germany, the Czech Republic, the UAE and Japan were the main countries among the 22 exporters to Semnan.
“The province earned 894.31 billion rials ($2.51 million) during the period, of which 574.44 billion rials ($1.61 million) belonged to value-added tax,” the official said.
