A total of 8,974 flights were operated by Iranian airlines at Kish International Airport during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), transporting 1.09 million passengers.
The number of takeoffs and landings registered a 10% decline as passenger traffic rose 23% year-on-year, latest data published by Iran Airports Company show.
The rise in passenger traffic despite the decline in the number of flights is due to the removal of social distancing protocols this year.
