A total of 16.53 million tons of goods worth $20.95 million were exported from Hamedan Province in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering a 68% decline in weight but an 11% rise in value compared with the similar period of last year, says a local official.
“Exports of industrial goods hit 6.25 million tons worth $7.24 million, registering a 66% fall in volume but a 112% rise in value year-on-year,” Ahmad Shanian was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
He added that close to 2.46 million tons of agricultural goods worth $3.09 million were exported from the province during the same period, with both figures indicating a 50% YOY decline.
“Mineral exports stood at 5.37 million tons worth $7.82 million, showing a 166% and 220% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year,” he said.
“Export of chemical products stood at 2.41 million tons worth $2.76 million.”
The official noted that 6.1 tons of handicrafts and handmade carpets worth $9,490 were also exported during the period, registering an 84% and 95% YOY decline in weight and value respectively.
“The sectors of mining, industries, agriculture, chemicals and handicrafts accounted for 37.35%, 34.57%, 14.75%, 13.28% and 0.05% of total exports from Hamedan during the period,” he added. 
Shanian said 1,111 tons of goods worth $4.72 million tons were imported into Hamedan during the same period, indicating a 75% and 77% decline in volume and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.
