Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the nuclear talks are going well, but called on officials not to wait for the outcome of the negotiations to plan for carrying out the country’s affairs.
“In the negotiations, the job is being done in a good manner, and the negotiators adequately brief the president, the Supreme National Security Council and others to help make decisions and advance the talks,” The Leader said in a meeting with top administration, parliamentary, judicial and military officials in a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday, which coincided with the tenth day of the fasting month of Ramadan, his official website reported.
The talks in Vienna on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers have been on a pause for over a month over several unresolved issues.
“The negotiating team has so far put up good resistance against the other side’s excessive demands, and will do so in the future,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
In addition, the Leader stressed that planning to handle the country’s affairs must not be put off pending the conclusion of the nuclear talks.
“Do your job. The outcome of the negotiations, whether positive, negative or something in between, must not cause disruption in your work.”
