Exports from Kashan County of Isfahan Province stood at 559,053 tons worth $448.53 million in the last Iranian year (March 2021-22), registering a 27% and 60% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the year before, according to a local customs official.
“Our main exports were reinforcement bars, machine-made carpet, porcelain dishes and glassware, tiles and ceramic, steel and galvanized sheets, rosewater and other kinds of herbal distillates as well as construction stones,” Alimorad Norouzi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
These products, he added, were exported to Armenia, Uzbekistan, Spain, Australia, Afghanistan, Germany, the UAE, Indonesia, the UK, Italy, Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, Pakistan, Turkey, China, Turkmenistan, Russia, Singapore, Syria, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Georgia, Lebanon, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Kenya, Canada, Serbia and the US.
According to the official, Kashan is considered Iran’s machine-made carpet hub and accounts for 75% of the country’s machine-made carpet exports.
Kashan County is one of Iran’s main production and industrial hubs where around 1,500 firms and 13 industrial zones are located. It is situated at the intersection of the international north-south and east-west transportation corridors.
