A Fokker-100 aircraft belonging to Iran Aseman Airlines which was scheduled to take off at 10:15 am on Sunday was delayed twice.
While on the runway, the plane was first forced to return to the hanger due to a technical hitch. The passengers were then asked to deplane to rectify the problem. Returning to the runway after a 4-hour delay, the flight was stopped for a second time as the pilot received instructions to clear the runway for another airplane belonging to Atrak Airlines to make an emergency landing. It managed to land safely.
A number of reporters waiting in the transit area were among the passengers, Sedayeeghtesad reports.
