The Statistical Center of Iran has published new data on the number of building permits issued in Tehran and in other urban areas of the country.
Municipalities across the country issued permits for the construction of 82,703 housing units across urban areas in the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Sept. 23-Dec. 21), registering an 11.6% and 27.3% decline compared with the previous quarter and the corresponding quarter of last year respectively.
The total floor area of units in buildings across the country stood at 15,847 square meters, registering a 13.8% and 27.4% decline quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year, respectively.
The average number of residential units per permit issued in Q3 across the country was 3.1 and the average floor area of residential units per permit was 600 square meters.
Permits for the construction of 9,461 housing units were issued by Tehran Municipality in Q3, to register a quarter-on-quarter growth of 24.3% and a year-on-year decline of 28.2%.
In Tehran, the total floor area of units in buildings stood at 1,871 square meters, registering a 24.7% and 24.5% decline QOQ and YOY respectively.
The average number of residential units per permit in the capital city was 7.9 and the average floor area of units per permit in the capital city was 1,562 square meters.
