The Statistical Center of Iran has published new data on building permits issued in Tehran and other urban areas during the fiscal 2020-21 (ended March 20).
Municipalities across the country issued permits for 490,597 housing units in urban areas during the period, registering a 22.8% growth compared with the preceding fiscal year, SCI’s website reported.
The average number of residential units per permit issued in the 12-month period across the country was 2.8 and the average floor area of residential units per permit was 537 square meters.
A total of 53,157 homes are expected to be built as a result of the permits issued by Tehran Municipality and register a year-on-year decrease of 16.2%.
In Tehran, the total floor area of units in buildings stood at 9.54 million square meters, registering an 18.3% decline YOY.
The average number of residential units per permit in the capital city was 7.7 and the average floor area of units per permit in the capital city was 1,382 square meters.
