Tehran stocks closed higher on Sunday bucking a declining trend that lasted for four consecutive sessions as spike in currency prices stimulated demand for commodity stocks.
The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 8,486.44 points or 0.64% to end trade at 1,343,252.
TSE-30 index gained 0.9% and the TSE equal weighted index barely rose 0.1%, indicating that large caps were the main gainers.
The former index tracks the performance of top 30 companies in terms of market cap and latter gives the same weight to shares of listed companies all irrespective of their size.
