The Statistical Center of Iran has reviewed price changes in 53 food items during the month to Nov. 21.
The biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item in urban areas was recorded for tomato at 33.5%, which was sold for 123,664 rials (42 cents) per kilogram.
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increase during the period under review was registered for bell pepper with 15.8% and tomato paste with 13.3%.
Bell pepper was sold at 193,042 rials (66 cents) per kg and tomato paste went for 322,041 rials ($1.1) per kg.
