Public sector employees who have not yet been vaccinated will be subject to penalties, according to the deputy head of the Administrative and Employment Organization of Iran.
“Unvaccinated employees of the government will first receive a written notice. This will not be documented in their records. If they fail to comply, then they will receive a letter of reprimand which will go into their records. In the third step, one-third of their salary will be cut for one month. In the next step, the salary and bonus decrease will continue for another three months, and finally, if all these measures fail, then the employee will be furloughed for up to three months,” Alaeddin Rafizadeh was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
The official noted that the National Coronavirus Headquarters is the sole body decidimg what health protocols must be in place and the regulations people have to abide by so as to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 transmission, as well as how to penalize offenders.
The Administrative and Employment Organization of Iran sent a directive on Oct. 19 to all public organizations and offices, excluding the armed forces, announcing the end of remote working for government employees.
