A total of 133,000 tons of locally-made goods worth $220 million were exported from the customs terminal of Semnan Province during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Oct. 22) to register a 41% growth in terms of value, according to a local official.
“The average USD value of each ton of exported goods from Semnan Province during the period was $1,650, 50% higher than the same period last year,” Hamidreza Maddah was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Lead ingots, caustic soda, disposable products, light hydrocarbons, cables, ferrosilicon, swamp coolers, detergent, iron and steel parts and components, wool, cement, ceramic tiles, sweets and chocolate were the main products exported from Semnan.
Iraq, Turkey, India, Italy, Armenia, Georgia, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, the UAE and Indonesia were the main destinations.
Imports to Semnan Province hit 6,000 tons worth $29 million during the same period.
The imports mainly included components and parts of electrical devices and machinery, bakery and confectionery machinery, ethylene particle board, dairy production machinery, cotton, components of transformers, propylene, electric static inductors and converters, voltage regulators and motor transformer oil.
Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UAE were the main exporters.
The average USD value of each ton of imported goods stood at $4,930, registering a 6% year-on-year decline.
