Leader: Nation Will Never Forget Martyrs’ Sacrifices

Commemorating the start of the Sacred Defense Week, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation will never forget the sacrifices made by the martyrs during the eight-year war waged by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein against Iran in 80s.
“The Sacred Defense Week [which marks the anniversary of the start of the war] is enriched with the names and memories of the great martyrs. Their sincere sacrifices and that of other [warriors] brought victory for the Iranian nation, and their pure blood consolidated the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a message on Thursday, Leader.ir reported. 
Noting that wherever there are sincere efforts, there will be victory and pride, the Leader said, “This is the great lesson of those role models of self-sacrifice.”
“And the Iranian nation will never forget this honorable legacy.”
