In the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Gilan, Viewed Through Historical Postcards’, Prof. Carlo Cereti said, “Europeans’ view of Iran is limited to Isfahan and the dry south, but Iran has also green scenic places to visit.”
The unveiling ceremony of the book, attended by Cereti, who is Italian cultural attaché in Tehran, researcher Naser Azimi, documentary filmmaker and the author of the book Mehrdad Oskouyi and his research team, was held Friday (Feb. 6) at Tehran’s Central Book City, according to IBNA,
Cereti, an archaeologist, referred to a few historical points about the postcards and said, “when I was first invited to the ceremony, I said to myself that I do not know anything about the photography of Iran, Gilan and the postcards, but after I studied this book, I was amazed as I noticed scenes similar to Italy and Europe pictured in the book.”
“One can say it has a European outlook, particularly Gilan, which served as the entrance gate for European arrival in Iran, since the first person who came to your country to visit Nasser al-Din Shah, came here through Gilan,” he observed.
