Remarkable Growth in Mehrabad Airport Traffic

With the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic around the world since 2019, airports and aviation industries experienced one of the biggest impacts in history and Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was no exception. 
However, the airport managed to register significant growth in Norouz (Iranian New Year holiday starting March 21 for a period of fortnight), according to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
“During the period, the airport registered a 182% and 7% growth respectively in the number of flights compared with the same period in the fiscal 2020-21 and 2019-20,” Ebrahim Moradi, director general of Mehrabad Airport, said.
