Programs are underway to increase output from South Pars Gas Field phases 20 and 21. Work is expected to be completed in the second half of this year, managing director of the 8th South Pars Refinery said.
This is one of the major programs of the refinery, which receives natural gas from the two phases. When ready, production will rise by 110%, Hadi Chabok was reported as saying by ILNA.
Each of the phases now produce 52 million cubic meters of gas, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur daily. One million ton of liquefied natural gas and 1 million tons of ethane are also produced annually.
The giant South Pars field has 24 phases and is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the maritime border between Iran and Qatar. It spreads over 9,700 square kilometers, of which 3,700 km is in Iran.
