A total of 1,185 production units in Iran’s industrial parks and estates were revived in the last Iranian year that ended on March 19, according to Asghar Masaheb, the deputy head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization.
“The revival of these units generated 21,618 direct jobs,” he told Shata news agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade.
The revived units had been either partially or completely shut down due to the lack of working capital, loss of markets, inability to update technology and lack of investment, the official explained.
A total of 44,899 production units operated in Iran’s industrial parks and estates as of Dec. 21, 2019.
