The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ Aerospace Division launched dozens of missiles on locations in Iraq hosting US forces on Wednesday morning in reprisal for the assassination of Martyr Major General Qasem Soleimani, the head of IRGC's Quds Force, in Baghdad on Friday.
Iranian officials had vowed a "crushing revenge" following the top commander's martyrdom and announced after the Wednesday attack that the retaliation has been concluded at the military level.
The IRGC, however, warned that any repeated invasion or provocation would be met with a "stronger and more painful" response.
Authorities in Tehran also stressed that the ultimate revenge involves the complete withdrawal of US forces from the region.
