Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger says a confrontation with Iran is difficult due to its influence in the region.
In an interview with NPR released on Saturday, Kissinger said because Iran has a strong footing in the Middle East, it has a great opportunity to create an empire.
“The borders of the settlement of 1919-'20 are essentially collapsing,” he said. “That gives Iran a very powerful level from a strategic point of view.”
