Over 117K Public Complaints Filed in Six Months

A total of 117,933 public complaints were filed against goods and service providers with the industries, mining and trade organizations of Iranian provinces during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), 85% of which pertained to products and the rest to services.
According to Gholamreza Saremiyan, an official with Consumers and Producers Protection Organization, the lion’s share of the complaints against providers of goods were related to bread, fruit, vegetables and groceries, Mizan Online reported.
Restaurants, auto repair shops and intercity public transportation were service centers accounting for a majority of the complaints.
Most of the complaints had profiteering and fraud at their core.
