Estimated to cost $350 million, the new unit is expected to reduce Co2 emissions in the region by at least 800,000 tons per year, he added.
The research and development unit of Pardis Petrochemical Company, in collaboration with the researchers of the Faculty of Modern Sciences and Technologies, University of Tehran, has succeeded in using carbon dioxide to make the new commodity that will be mass produced.
Ilam Petrochemical Company in Ilam Province has successfully used the catalyst made by the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company in its high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit, managing director of the company said.
“Using the indigenized catalyst has helped the company save $6 million, which would otherwise be spent on importing the item from other countries like China or Japan,” Seyyed Gholam Hassan Garshasbi was also quoted as saying by the Oil Ministry’s news portal.
The catalyst was previously imported but due to the US sanctions in recent years, the country faced difficulties. Therefore, experts and engineers at PRTC endeavored and succeeded in acquiring the knowhow for producing the catalyst.
Referring to the cost of producing the catalyst domestically at about 70% of the cost of the foreign counterpart, he said that in view of the success of the catalyst’s use in the company, the construction of a catalyst unit in the complex has been placed on the agenda.
The construction of the dry cooling tower of the second unit of Shahid Mofatteh Thermal Power Plant in Hamedan Province has registered 60% progress, the head of Thermal Power Plants Holding Company said.
The power stations consumes about 12 million cubic meters of treated wastewater a year.
“Upon completion, it will help reduce water consumption by 85% in the unit and contribute to the stability of the production capacity of the 250-megawatt unit,” Barq News also quoted Abdolrasoul Pishahang as saying.
The water saved in the process will be supplied for agricultural and industrial operations.

Iran’s trade with India stood at $2.09 billion during the first 10 months of 2022, latest data released by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry show.
Export to India hit $550 million during the period, registering a 59.06% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.

M1 and M2 are the two components broad money. The former refers to the most liquid assets that can be easily turned into cash. Cash is the highest liquidity asset because it can be traded easily and quickly without any effect on its market value.
The Center for Electronic Commerce Development, affiliated with Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade has called on the Central Bank of Iran to announce cryptocurrency regulations without further delay.

The system, developed by Kavosh Sepehr Lotus Company, helps rescue forces predict the time and size of an atmospheric phenomenon’s occurrence and determine the weather condition of the place where a natural or manmade disaster has occurred.
The knowledge-based system has entered its final stage with the support of the headquarters for the development of technologies of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, the latter’s news portal reported.
The main user of this knowledge-based meteorological geoinformatics system is the Iran Red Crescent Society (known as Helal Ahmar in Persian).
