Turkey’s ambassador to Tehran reiterated his government’s opposition to the unilateral US sanctions against Iran, saying Ankara is expecting a visit of a US delegation that would present new demands regarding economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denied US President Donald Trump’s claims that the administration of former US president Barack Obama had given citizenship to 2,500 Iranians during the 2015 nuclear deal talks.
“Media reports that there was an agreement between Iran and the US during the nuclear talks to grant 2,500 resident permits (to Iranians) is a sheer lie and I strongly deny it,” Qassemi said on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.
He added that there had been “no such talk” between the Iranian nuclear negotiators and the US delegation.

To save natural resources in power stations and fight the menace of air pollution, plans are underway to boost thermal power plants' efficiency from 37% to 40% by the end of the Sixth Five-Year Development Plan (2022), the head of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company said.
"In line with these efforts, a highly-efficient gas-fueled power stations with an efficiency of 40% will become operational in the near future in Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province," Mohsen Tarztalab was also quoted as saying by ISNA.

Two Iranian oil and gas companies have jointly conducted high-tech rigless stimulation and clean-up operation on a well in the fourth phase of the giant South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf, saving millions of dollars in expenditure.

The Central Bank of Iran is expected to change its policy of giving foreign currencies to people traveling overseas at subsidized rates as soon as next week, in the face of growing public pressure and criticism.
“Based on negotiations, revisions are to be made regarding the allocation of government currency to outbound travelers by the central bank by the end of the current [Iranian] month [on July 22],” Yonathan Betkolia, a member of Majlis Development Commission, told IBENA.
He said the cheap currency allocation has “created an unfavorable trend by helping the growth of tourism industry in some neighboring nations”, in addition to encouraging black market activities as “many get the currency from the government and sell it in the black market”.

Ali Asghar Mounesan, head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, voiced opposition to policies regarding the allocation of foreign exchange to travelers, stressing that the guidelines need to be reformed.
“ICHHTO was against the plan from the beginning because the currency that is aimed to facilitate people’s travel is preparing the ground for fraud,” he was quoted as saying by ILNA.
He said ICHHTO has had correspondence with the Central Bank of Iran frequently and in the latest negotiations, it was agreed that the matter be reconsidered and finalized this week.
Kermanshah’s Governor General Houshang Bazvand called for increased efforts to complete two major tourism projects in the western province.
“All the relevant organizations and their managers should help accelerate the construction of the Bisotoun-Taq Bostan tourism corridor… it is an important project that should become operational without any delay,” Bazvand told a meeting of Kermanshah’s tourism committee on Thursday.
Preparatory studies for the first phase of the project are 70% complete, he said, adding that “the project manager should finish those studies in two months, so we can prepare investment packages and introduce the opportunities the project offers to potential investors and the private sector.”
The feasibility study was carried out by the Roads and Urban Development Organization in the past Iranian year that ended on March 20, CHTN reported.
