Premier League kicked off on Sunday and the dominant clubs of the previous season, Manchester City and Liverpool started with win.
Last season Premier League title winner Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-0 at the gunners’ house, Emirates Stadium. Liverpool turned the home stadium Anfield into a hell for West Ham United, finishing the match 4-0, Reuters reported.
The City, attempting to become the first team since Manchester United in 2009 to retain the title, was too good for an Arsenal side playing under new Spanish manager Unai Emery.
Emery said his team would need more time to adapt to his tactical approach but maintained there were some positive signs in the 2-0 season-opening loss to Manchester City.
Arsenal’s energetic pressing in the midfield area had City on the back foot in the second half, but lapses in concentration in defense proved the host is still in progress.
Last season’s Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah was on target again as Liverpool began its campaign with an easy win at home to West Ham.
