Women Shooters Win in Asia Championships

Iran women’s teams finished first and second at the 10th Asian Airgun Championships, December 6-12, in Wako, Japan.

According to Varzesh3.com, the Iranian team consisting of Fatemeh Qodrat-Abadi, Haniyeh Rostamiyan and Seyyedeh Shirin Mortazavi came first in the 10m air pistol junior team category, December 11.

The team collected 1144 points to ensure the gold medal. Qodrat-Abadi with 386 points was the top-scorer member of the team. Rostamiyan and Mortazavi with 383 and 375 points respectively came after her.

Indian and Korean teams finished second and third with considerable score difference with Iran. India got 1128 points and South Korea 1122 points.

In the 10m air rifle women junior team category, another team from Iran stood on the second place with 1243 points just three points less than the first team China.

Fatemeh Karamzadeh, Seyyedeh Roya Sobhkhiz and Maryam Shafieepour were team members and scored 415.6, 415.2 and 412.2 points respectively on December 9.

China emerged at the top with 1246 points and India with 1238.1 points finished third after Iran.
