A Chinese delegation signed an agreement with the University of Tehran’s officials during a meeting on Monday to expand academic and technological ties.
Representatives from Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, Yunnan University and the Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology met Mahmoud Nili, the dean of UT, and discussed expansion of academic and technological cooperation, the university's website Ut.ac.ir reported.
The delegation proposed the establishment of departments of Persian-language studies in Yunnan University with the help of Iranian university instructors.
The agreement also envisages the establishment of Iran-China offices in technology parks backed by Yunnan University and the University of Tehran.
In addition, the two sides committed to exchanging university professors and experts in the field of agriculture. This is expected to boost related industries with the use of cutting-edge technologies, especially in Iran. 
The two sides believe that the move can help develop technologies and various academic fields.
