A new Persian language platform “Padpors” has been launched to help people who cannot find appropriate answers to a particular question.

Padpors, just like the internationally known Quora.com, is a question-and-answer website where local editors organize and help users with their queries, local technology website Webna reported.

Online users can participate in discussions and find people with similar fields of interest congregating around different question genres. The feed is displayed on the homepage and helps organize content in chronological order.

Padpors requires users to register with actual names rather than an Internet pseudonym; although verification of names is not required, false names can be reported by the community.

It allows users to create user profiles where they can add their real names, photo, topics to follow, number of followers and questions answered by them.

According to the website the way people answer with real names “is done with the intent of adding credibility to answers,” but Podpors also allows anonymous answers.

The young website seems to be growing fast with 1,600 subjects and 15,500 answers during the past two months.

The forum’s goal, however, is not limited to mere Q&A. Its developers have provided cyber-forums called NoA (abbreviation of Noavari meaning ‘New Ideas’) during which members bring their own ideas and solutions to specific issues such as air pollution, water conservation, etc.

Launch of Padpors comes just a few months after the international version of the website Quora, which mostly answers questions in English, was blocked by authorities in Iran.
