Second Park for the Disabled

The second specialized park for the disabled has been constructed in Tehran Municipality District 3. “Arqavan Park in northern Tehran is equipped with play and fitness equipment, a ping pong table, benches and drinking fountains, all designed for easy accessibility to the physically challenged,” said Seyyed Muhammad Reza Mousavi, TM’s deputy of environment and urban services, Mehr News Agency reported.All the park pathways are fully accessible for special needs people, and signboards have put up all over the park, to guide them. Wheelchairs will also be made available for the disabled to borrow and use in the park.Shariati Park, also located in District 3, was the first park created for the use of people with special needs, including the elderly, the blind and physically challenged.
