Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan has been connected to the local fiber-optic network and equipped with several WiFi access points as the sports complex seeks to facilitate visitors’ access to communication services.
The new facilities, provided jointly by ICT Ministry and Telecommunication Company of Iran, make rapid communications possible both for people inside the stadium and sport commentators, CITNA reported.
The stadium has been equipped with 37 cameras that directly send video footage and pictures taken during matches to the stadium’s press box and then to provincial broadcasting centers.
Eleven Wi-Fi access points have been installed in the stadium through which spectators and reporters can connect to the Internet and share multimedia files online.
The facilities were unveiled during a ceremony held on Sept. 24 attended by Seyed Hosein Dehdashti, a deputy at the ICT Ministry and Hosein Nemati, managing director of Iran Post Corporation.
Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium is the second largest stadium in Iran with a 70,000 seating capacity. It opened to the public in 2002.
