A Finnish provider of telecom information technology solutions, Tecnotree has renewed maintenance contracts with a major unnamed operator in Iran, in a deal worth €1.9 million.

Ambassador of Finland to Iran Keijo Norvanto reported the deal on his Twitter account attaching a link to a report from news website Good News From Finland to the tweet.

The report states that the contracts have been extended until the end of June 2019, and cover the maintenance of key Tecnotree products for customer lifecycle management, billing, loyalty and campaign management, enterprise integration, provisioning, and content delivery platforms.

Reportedly the software products have helped the client to successfully run its operations.

“We are extremely happy to see our existing customers continuously supporting us with their trust in Tecnotree as the partner for delivery, operation and maintenance of our key BSS products,” Tecnotree’s CEO Padma Ravichander told the news website.

BSS or business support systems are the components that a telecommunications service provider uses to run its business operations and deals with the taking of orders, payment issues, revenues and more. The systems are used for managing products, orders, revenues and customers.

Following US President Donald Trump's withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, Washington has mounted pressure on tech firms to cut ties with Iranian companies. With this political backdrop, the news of the Finish firm renewing its commitment to the Iranian market comes as a silver lining for the industry.
