Attended by fintechs and startups, Tehran is to host a week-long event aiming to bring together the entrepreneur community to create an atmosphere of collaboration and idea sharing, and to provide opportunities to build constructive links and exchange innovative knowledge and experience
The event dubbed Startup Week is slated for early next month; set to open on August 3, reported ITIran.com.
Specialized panels and workshops covering various activities such as keynote lectures by parliament members, university professors, representatives of accelerators and capital funds, as well as related experts make up the bulk of programs during Startup Week.
The initial segment of the event will be held on August 3 focusing on the startup ecosystem in Iran. The inaugural ceremony for this section will feature special panels dealing with successful business models, startups in small cities, failed startups, firms’ relations with the media and the challenges involved.
On the second day, Pardis Technology Park is set to hold two workshops with the focus on business and product management.
Blockchain Technology
The second segment of Startup Week titled “Tehran Blockchain” is set to open on August 8 and close on August 10, which is certain to attract fintech enthusiasts.
This part of the event will be hosted by the government-backed Innovation and Prosperity Fund, presenting educational workshops dealing with businesses and the blockchain technology.
The educational event welcomes programmers, business experts, students, startup lovers, marketing agents, as well as graphic designers so that they could exchange ideas and form groups, eventually to forge ideas for collective implementation.
As for the blockchain technology, many people talk about it, though few know exactly what it is and how it functions.
“The blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value,” wrote ‘Blockchain Revolution’ authors. A statement which hints at what the technology is, but leaves several questions in mind of the reader unaddressed.
Organizers of Tehran Startup Week hope to answer common queries about blockchain and the technology’s applications.
