ICT Ministry Offers Helping  Hand to Ease Power Outages

In light of the current blackouts resulting from a seasonal shortage of electricity and an urgent need to implement crisis management policies, various state bodies have made due gestures so as to help alleviate the debilitating effects of the problem. The most recent outreach is an offer by the ICT Ministry involving a fortnight’s recourse to diesel-generated power. “Iran’s communications network is set to feed on the electricity produced by diesel generators for two weeks on peak consumption hours in order to tackle the challenge posed by power outages troubling our fellow countrymen on hot summer days,” wrote ICT Minister Azari-Jahromi on his official Twitter account. He further predicted that the given move will help remove some pressure from the national electricity network as much as the daily power output of Zayandehroud Dam. Previously, state organizations altered their working hours, running from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., in a bid not to coincide with periods of peak demand for electricity.
