In a bid to increase access to the Internet, the Communication Regulatory Authority introduced a mandatory landline Internet Fair Usage Policy last December. Now the ombudsman says it has received complaints about the quality of the service.
CRA says it has been monitoring the FUP in its implementation phase and the performance of Internet service providers. It will soon publish a comprehensive report on its findings.
Following the complaints made by users regarding the quality of the services offered under FUP, the CRA deputy Nastaran Mohseni says the ombudsman is scrutinizing services provided by ISPs and will review the complaints by users, Mehr News Agency reported.
The Internet Fair Usage Policy has been designed to lower Internet tariffs and allow users to download more data.
