Iranian Seismological Center (IRSC), affiliated to Tehran University, has released a mobile application named ‘Larze Negar’ (Quake Tracker in Persian), which provides users with real-time reports on earthquakes.

The app has Android and iOS versions. It delivers reports on the seismic shifts including, time, place, depth, magnitude and duration of the oscillations, local Technology website ICTNA reported.

Users can also access other information such as their distance from the earthquake’s epicenter on the app map.

IRSC also delivers the data on earthquakes through its website irsc.ut.ac.ir and a Telegram channel — a messaging app and social media platform popular with Iranians.

During the first 12 hours of Dec. 26, IRSC reported over 48 quakes across the country with magnitudes between 1.0 to 3.6 on its website.
