A new ride-hailing app ‘Netax’ is offering services in the northwestern city of Orumiyeh, the capital of West Azarbaijan Province. The newcomer operates through Android and iOS applications and is available for download on local app markets Café Bazaar, SibApp and the Google Play Store, local technology website Webna reported. Netax also has its own website netaxiran.com through which drivers can enroll with the service. Passengers can use ride services 24/7 and fares can be paid in cash or online with passengers receiving digital receipts. The company wants to catch up with the tough ride-hailing competition in the country for almost four years. Snapp and Tap30, the two biggest ride-hailing services have been expanding their operations in the capital and other big cities. Another app called Qonqa (meaning “horse-drawn carriage” in Azari) started offering ride-hailing service in the northeastern city of Tabriz in 2016 and reportedly has become popular with residents.
