French-American business convention Game Connection has offered a luring incentive to Iranian game developers to attend the event.
Game Connection is an international marketplace to be held in Paris Nov. 1 to 3 where over 2,700 developers, publishers, distributors and service providers come to find new partners and clients.
According to the official website of Iran Computer and Video Game Foundation (IRCG), the French event has offered an 84% discount to Iranian developers who want to show their products.
“All Iranian game developers can benefit from a €2,710 ($3,179) discount, paying €590 ($692) for a booth at Game Connection,” the IRCG website noted.
IRCG has been able to build closer ties to Game Connection in recent years.
Earlier in July the two sides collaborated in organizing Iran’s first business-to-business video game industry event, the Tehran Game Convention, which was hailed by local game developers as a major step forward for the industry.
Pierre Carde, the CEO of Game Connection, attended the event and said TGC was the first event held jointly by his company in the Middle East.
Carde told reporters, “Iranian developers have a good shot at the international market and are able to claim a considerable chunk of it.”
Iran’s video game industry has made significant progress with several developers offering products overseas with help from foreign companies.
