Mobile phone maker Motorola's distributor in Iran has officially revealed the new Moto X4 on its Instagram page for the first time.
Homa Telecom, the official distributor of Lenovo and Motorola products in Iran announced the new flagship of the now Chinese-owned phone brand on August 21, according to Motorola Fan News website.
It is not known whether Motorola had given Homa Telecom permission to release the details of the phone before the official release in the world on August 24.
The Moto X4 not previously revealed apart from leaked images on other technology sites shows full specifications for the new phone.
Confirmed details include a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display, 3/4GB of RAM, a 2.2GHz Octa Core processor (SD630/SD660), and a 3,000mAh battery.
As per earlier leaks, Moto X4 will be the first Motorola smartphone after 2016, to feature IP68 level of certification.
On the camera side, it will feature a 16-megapixel front shooter which is designed for ultra low-light selfies and will come with an adaptive low light mode.
It will be capable of shooting 4k video at 30 frames per second or full HD video at 60 frames per second.
The 12MP rear shooter will feature dual pixel autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size, while the other 8MP ultra-wide sensor will feature f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and 120° field of view. It will be having dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus and the ability to add depth of field effects.
Mobile phones to Iran are often imported before the official release by companies as dealers and middlemen often bring the devices directly from China in suitcases and by other means (smuggling).
The latest instance of an official distributor releasing images of the device before anywhere else is unprecedented.
