ICT Tech Park Opens in Alborz

Telecoms Minister Mahmoud Vaezi inaugurated an ICT Technology Park in Alborz Province. Named as ICT Science and Technology Park, it is still under construction and will be fully operational by June 2018, the official website of the ministry reported. The project is part of a national scheme to establish a science corridor formally called the Center for Information and Communications Technology in Tehran and Alborz provinces. The tech park is planned to operate as a startup accelerator catering to the needs of knowledge-based companies active in the ICT sector.  It is located in the Payam Special Economic Zone (which is owned by the ICT ministry) and companies moving to the tech park will be able to benefit from tax exemptions offered to businesses in all of the special economic and industrial zones. ICT refers to technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications.
