Local Cable Company Focusing on Export

Moghan Cable and Wire Company, a local manufacturer of telephone cables, has begun exporting its products to several countries.

CEO Mehdi Ebrahimian, said his company is now exporting telecom cables and other low-voltage cables to regional countries and also clients in Southeast Asia, Mehr News Agency reported.

The company is expanding into neighboring countries like Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Iraq and sales in the three neighbors are rapidly increasing.

“Moghan’s revenue in the last fiscal (ended in March) reached 937 billion rials ($25 million), and the year before it made 880 billion rials ($23 million),” he added. Thanks in part to the growing international trade.

Ebrahimian added that his company is collaborating with the Electronic Support Fund for Research and Development (ESFRD), affiliated to the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade.

ESFRD lends at preferential rates to entrepreneurs and knowledge-based firms.

As per available data Moghan had a 20% share of the total cable export market.

Other firms in the industry include Iran Cable Manufacturing Company (BAYKA).
