The 6th International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INOTEX2017) wound up on Friday with record crowds and local startups attending the event.
INOTEX is the premier regional event for professionals in innovation and technology, hosted by Pardis Technology Park and co-organized by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and the Center for Innovation and Technology Cooperation.
Local inventors brought their latest inventions to the five-day event, with several unique products on display, Tasnim News Agency reported.
One innovative item at INOTEX trialed in front of the crowds was a “hand weaving machine” which can be used for both weaving carpets and textile alike.
Its inventor Jamshid Divangahi said he hoped to get the electric-powered device to the market soon with support from government agencies that promote startups.
It remains to be seen whether the device will be a commercial success.
Several other new technological items were also on display at the annual fair with everything from digitally enahced medical items to mobile operators .
The May 23-26 event was held at the Tehran International Fairgrounds.
Companies from more than 25 nations, including the US, Britain, Austria, Germany and Australia, participated, according to the organizers’ website, www.inotex.com.
One of the side events at the expo was a networking and innovations round table, in which 14 specialists from 12 countries discussed topics on high-tech and its future.
