Regional Startup Event to be Held in Baku

Seedstars World, the global seed-stage competition to identify young talents in emerging and fast-growing startup markets will be held in the Azerbaijan capital  on May 3.

The fifth qualifying round of Seedstars World, is organized by Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and supported by Baku’s ADA University, Azernews reported on April 23.

Ten of best seed stage startups will compete at the Seedstars Summit and win up to $1 million.

The event is open to Iranian tech firms based in Tabriz.

In line with its mission to spot startups, Seedstars World is travelling to 65 countries this year to identify the best seed-stage entrepreneurs and provide them with an opportunity to win up to $1 million and network with investors and mentors from around the world.

Seedstars is a global diversified community, rich in opportunities for entrepreneurs as well as stakeholders including investors, industry players and many more. The competition seeks to support entrepreneurs in emerging markets. It is a great chance for local startups to pitch in the world market and demonstrate their abilities.

Ten startups will be invited to compete at the Seedstars Summit that annually takes place in Switzerland.

Seedstars is a Swiss based group of companies which has the goal of impacting people’s lives in emerging markets through technology and entrepreneurship.

Through different activities of startup scouting, company building and acceleration programs, the team has now access to entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, corporations and government officials from over 60 countries.

 Coming to Tehran

A Seedstars world event will be held in Tehran on August 18 for startups.

The 10 best startups from Tehran will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of Seedstars.

The deadlines for the Tehran event is August 4 closing at midnight.

Partners in the 2016 event in Tehran included Startup news website Wamda, local technology company Jahesh.co and food Internet delivery firm Chilivery.com.
