The University of Tehran is set to hold a three-day ‘startup weekend’ titled Entrepreneurship in Information Technology from February 1-3. According to the official website of the event, it will be held at the University of Tehran Entrepreneurship Department at the institution’s campus in central Tehran. The event aims to gather technology enthusiasts and entrepreneurs in a room for three days to strike deals and push new tech startups. By the end of the event, a judging panel made up of academics and officials with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the Information Technology Organization will choose the top three teams. The three will be introduced to startup incubators and investors. Some of the supporters of the event are Asia Tech, an Internet service provider, RighTel, Iran’s third mobile operator and Anetwork, an online advertising firm.
