Tehran has signed a €70 million contract with several foreign companies for executing a project on production of radiopharmaceuticals in Iran, the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said on Sunday.
Ali Akbar Salehi added that the Gamma MezzoPreneur project will be funded by the National Development Fund and completed within three years, Mehr News.
“We have also begun the production of pesticides for agricultural pest control. Good measures have been taken for producing more resistant seeds,” he said.
“We have also made good achievements in fighting locust bean moths through the use of nuclear technology.”
The nuclear chief then referred to the construction of three nuclear emergency departments in the country, adding that the one in Isfahan has been set up while the two others in Bushehr and Arak are in the execution phase.
According to Salehi, the nuclear emergency department in Bushehr will be built on an area of 8,000 square meters.
