Iran’s Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade is offering financial aid to Iranian companies active in the information and communications technology sector to participate in the upcoming elecomp exhibition.

The ministry’s Electronic Support for Research and Development Office and Iran’s ICT Guild are to provide aid packages to companies to participate in the latest edition of Iran’s International Exhibition of Electronics, Computer and E-Commerce, which showcases the latest technological advancements in the country.

On November 3, Mehr News Agency reported that companies should pay back the loan in 10 months with a 12% interest. It has urged applicants to submit their requests by November 5.

The exhibition is to be held from December 15 to 18 at Tehran’s International Fairground.

According to the ICT Guild, which is organizing the event, although registration for the exhibition is continuing, China, South Korea and Taiwan have already signed up.

Also, the group said 150 Iranian companies have registered to showcase their products and services at the event.

The previous round of elecomp hosted 420 local and foreign firms that presented their latest achievements, products and services in the realm of information technology and telecommunications.

According to a guild official, the number is to be doubled in this round of the exhibition.

Fifty state-affiliated organizations were present at the elecomp 2015 and local news agencies estimated that with the upcoming presidential election, the state is to have a more significant presence in the event.
