Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi is attending the 26th Universal Postal Congress in Istanbul. The congress brings together some 2,500 delegates from 192 countries who will discuss the future of postal sector in relation to the changing global dynamics, IRNA reported. Turkish Post is hosting the event where the global post strategy for 2017 to 2020 will be defined. Delegates will discuss technological advancements in the communications sector and address related problems in the postal sector. According to Vaezi, the 20-day event is held once every four years and selects members of the secretariat, committees and councils. “Over the past few years, the postal system has formed a productive synergy with the electronics and IT sectors,” he said in his keynote speech. Major resolutions ratified in each edition must be executed by the member countries.
