Iran will host a two-day international telecom event named Iran Connect in September.

Slated for September 6-7 in Tehran, the event has been planned by Iran’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with Euromoney Institutional Investor, Mehr News Agency reported.

The conference aims to unite the entire international telecoms ecosystem looking to do business in Iran.

Found in 1969, Euromoney is an international business-to-business media group focused on the finance industry. The largest shareholder in the company is Daily Mail and General Trust Plc.

According to Iran’s Telecoms Minister Mahmoud Vaezi, the conference has a technical-economic approach.

Keynote addresses will be delivered on September 6 by Vaezi, Managing Director of Telecommunications Infrastructure Company of Iran Javad Azari Jahromi and Nicholas Hopton, charge d’affaires to Iran for the United Kingdom.

Providing a high-profile conference of C-level speakers addressing revenue growth opportunities in a highly lucrative market, the event will also facilitate meetings between international operators, vendors and service providers and Iran’s entire telecoms industry.

Iran’s telecoms industry has been of particular interest for foreign investors because of its rapid growth prospects created by deregulation, licensing of new mobile virtual network operators, rollout of 3G and 4G services and a flourishing startup sector.

The Telecommunication Company of Iran recently signed a €1 billion finance agreement with an unnamed overseas vendor for the expansion and upgrade of its networks as well as cooperation agreements with Italian telecoms equipment manufacturer Italtel and foreign telecoms carriers KT Corp. of South Korea and Kazakhtelecom of Kazakhstan.

According to Capacityconferences.com, associate partners of the event include Orange, Sparkle and U.com, as well as the London-based Iran-Britain Chamber of Commerce.
