Chancellor of Sharif University of Technology Mahmoud Fotouhi Firouzabad announced the university’s plans to expand cooperation with Iraq and Afghanistan.

The university has planned scientific and educational cooperation with regional countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan, especially with regard to admitting students in different fields of studies, Fotouhi told Mehr News Agency on Saturday.

“To develop cooperation with the regional countries, we have initiated activities for boosting cooperation with Iraq,” he said.

Fotouhi noted that to pursue the admission of students from Iraq, an Iraqi academic delegation traveled to Iran and held meetings on advancing bilateral plans.

"We plan to increase the number of foreign students," he said, adding that admitting students from regional countries is a priority.

Sharif University of Technology is one of the largest Iranian engineering schools.
