Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi met with Estonian Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand on Monday.

Vaezi said Tehran is willing to increase collaboration with Tallinn in several areas, including space, post, telecoms, electronic trade, information technology and e-governance, Iran's main broadcaster IRIB reported.

Kaljurand noted that Estonia ranks 16th globally in the area of e-governance, adding that the Estonian government has established close ties with the country's universities that actively conduct research in the fields of IT and telecommunications.

"The universities have made noteworthy achievements in this area and are highly experienced. We are ready to receive Iranian students in these fields," she added.

Pointing to Estonia's achievements in IT and telecoms, Kaljurand said the country is willing to share related experience with Iran.

With plans in place since its independence in 1991 and keeping up with the global communication and IT trends, the Estonian government has become completely paper-free in bureaucratic procedures as well as in educational and health facilities.
